Antonella Trombetta is the new Secretary General of Cluster Trasporti.

Trombetta has been Head of European Affairs EMEA BU within Hitachi Rail STS since 2019; from 2017 to 2019 she has been vice president of Portfolio, Business Development & Innovation-Railway & Mass Transit at Ansaldo STS.

Since 1993 she worked on projects related to the development and implementation of integrated systems in the field of mass transport; she has also gained experience in the development of the ERTMS system for the management of railway traffic and on-board signaling. “I would especially like to thank the President and all the members of the CISG for the trust placed in me – declared the new Secretary General of Cluster Trasporti – for me it is an honor and it will be my utmost commitment to represent the role that has been assigned to me. A strong thanks to Eng. Lucio Sabbadini for his excellent work and for his invaluable support that I know I can count on”.

Furthermore, thanks to the presence of the main transport stakeholders within the Cluster, we must guide the transition to sustainable, safe and reliable transport systems to address the social and economic commitments of the European Union.  Cluster Trasporti will have to play a leading role in supporting large companies and supporting SMEs “, she concluded.

Trombetta has participated in the design and commissioning of signaling systems for the following projects: Rome Metro, Naples L1, Naples L6, Belo Horizonte; CBTC applications for China, Thessaloniki and Ankara; control applications for the Rome Termini and Turin-Padua railways; systems for the Rome-Naples, Turin-Milan and Milan-Bologna high-speed lines, for new high-speed and conventional lines in Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, Sweden, China, Germany, the Emirates and for freight lines in Australia.

She is a member of: College of Italian Railway Engineers; UNIFE Strategy Committee; Shift2Rail Governing Board; IP2 Coordinator – Shift2Rail; EU Expert Group – Rail Supply Industry.
